Short Description:
When simulating strictly periodic sources served by deterministic servers, there is a high chance that the simulation just repeats the same periodic scenario over and over again. Confidence intervals computed from batch means will be extremely small, misleading the unexperienced user to believing in a high relevance of the results. We show three methods to overcome periodicity and obtain ensemble as well as time statistics with traditional simulation methods. The same problems appear in some measurement set-ups.
