Archived training materials

SIL archives training materials in its internal repository called REAP (requires login to access). For those who are familiar with the previous archiving process in place since 2011, we’ve revised what was the training materials repository typology to now describe course, component, and workshop archive records. Course records will act as head or parent entries that describe the overall course with attached syllabus. One or more component records describe specific parts of a course (or workshop). Additionally, we are introducing a new vocabulary of training resource types to describe these components - items like presentations, handouts, assessments, and instruction notes. Workshop records will describe informal training events with components included or archived separately. Textbooks (or other formal training publications) that were once considered training materials have now been reclassified as ‘wider audience’ resources.

Training materials archived prior to July 2020 are not available in our online catalog found at https://www.sil.org/resources/language-culture-archives, but they may over time be migrated to the new format that allows them to be shared. Please send the archives feedback (archive_dallas[at]sil.org) about specific items that should be migrated. SIL staff and partners are invited to also submit training materials using our input tool called RAMP (www.ramp.insitehome.org). Refer to the archiving checklist as an aid in preparing and packaging these materials.
