Thursday 6 May (18:00 Bangkok time) - join the group video online call on Zoom using this link.
Topic: Developing a Theory of Change
In preparation for the call, consider what you have learnt from the last month of the training. It might be from the online call, or from your team work on the grant proposal, or perhaps from your review of your peer team's grant proposal section. Note down your reflections and bring them to the online call.
Click here to watch a recording of the synchronous zoom call, and the presentation slides. If you want to look back over the Menti results from the end of the call, you can find 3 screenshots in this folder.
(You may need to sign in to your Google account for access.)
For May you have three tasks to work on as a team:
Individually, take a few minutes to review the LEAD Asia-Pacific Theory of Change document,
Having taken part in the online call and reflected on how important the 'why' of our work and organisation is, take 30min as a team to review your Section #1 - ORGANISATION / TEAM BIOGRAPHY text again. Does it communicate clearly enough the Why of your work? How could you improve your description so it connects clearly and with more impact with the reader?
Work together as a team to develop Section #5 - 'PRODUCTION GOALS' and Section #6 - 'ACTIVITIES & OPERATIONAL PLAN' - of your grant proposal.
Click here to find your group folder, within which there is a google document set up for your team (note: you must be signed into the google account you provided when registering for the training to access the folder and file). Because you are working on two sections this month we have allowed two weeks for these tasks. Please make sure these sections are completed by Saturday 22 May.
As a team, review the 'PRODUCTION GOALS' and 'ACTIVITIES & OPERATIONAL PLAN' sections of your assigned peer team's grant proposal. Click here to find their google document. As you read it through, highlight:
3 things you like about what they have written,
3 areas where you think they could strengthen/improve what they have written,
any questions you have about what is written.
To do this in google docs, highlight the text and then click on the 'text bubble' to the right of the page to add your comment.
Make sure this is completed by Saturday 29 May.
Watch this short video, reviewing some of the key aspects of this month’s topic. Then, as a team, review the comments received from your assigned peer team and spend some time revising your proposal based on the suggestions and questions raised.
Finally, to consolidate your learning this month, take some time to discuss the following two questions as a team:
What are your 3 key learning points from this month?
What one thing are you going to do now to grow/establish your capacity in this area?
We have reached the midway point of the training - congratulations!
We are taking this week 'off' to provide you with some additional time to catch up on any sections you have not yet completed or to review your progress so far. Take a look back through sections #1-6 and see what you could improve. In particular, look for:
any information you might want to move to fit better in another section, and
any issues with continuity - are there any things you mention in later sections that you should introduce earlier on, or are there any unclear logic connections between the different sections that you could improve?
