Thursday 15 July (18:00 Bangkok time) - join the group video online call on Zoom using this link.
Topic: Assumptions and Risks
In preparation for the call, consider what you have learnt from the last month of the training. It might be from the online call, or from your team work on the grant proposal, or perhaps from your review of your peer team's grant proposal section. Note down your reflections and bring them to the online call.
Click here to access a recording of the synchronous zoom call, and here to access a copy of the presentation slides.
(You may need to sign in to your Google account for access.)
For July you have two tasks (one is optional) to work on as a team:
If you would like, and haven't already done so, work together as a team to develop a SWOT chart for Section #8 - APPENDIX 2. This will then be helpful for you as you...
Work together as a team to develop Section #9 - 'ASSUMPTIONS AND RISKS' - of your grant proposal. Look back at your logframe from last month and take note of any assumptions you are making in your plan. Then complete the assumption/risk matrix noting the likelihood and impact of each risk, as well as your mitigation strategy. Click here to find your group folder, within which there is a google document set up for your team (note: you must be signed into the google account you provided when registering for the training to access the folder and file). Please make sure this section is completed by Saturday 24 July.
As a team, review Section #9 - ASSUMPTIONS AND RISKS of your assigned peer team's grant proposal. Click here to find their google document. As you read it through, highlight:
3 things you like about what they have written,
3 areas where you think they could strengthen/improve what they have written,
any questions you have about what is written.
To do this in google docs, highlight the text and then click on the 'text bubble' to the right of the page to add your comment.
Make sure this is completed by Saturday 31 July.
Watch this short video, reviewing some of the key aspects of this month’s topic. Then, as a team, review the comments received from your assigned peer team and spend some time revising your proposal based on the suggestions and questions raised.
Finally, to consolidate your learning this month, take some time to discuss the following two questions as a team:
What are your 3 key learning points from this month?
What one thing are you going to do now to grow/establish your capacity in this area?
