The Restart
October 2018
October 2018
For a variety of reasons the project languished for 12 (!) years. The business I was working for got sold so I am temporarily retired, so the project got restarted.
This is where I left off the project ... about 10 years ago. Basically the bare frame and suspension sorted out, engine and transmission mounted. Not much more than that. Naively I thought I was about 50% done at this point. Not so much.
I went for a 3 link at the rear, as opposed to the more common 4 link.
I built a new build stand for the re-start.
and set up my garage for the build.
I did all the original welds with a small mig welder. I decided to tig most of the rest, including some aluminum work to modify a fuel cell. This is an everlast 200 tig - great little machine, about $1400.
Trial fitting the seats. Scuttle re-designed so it can come off for access to instruments, wipers, etc.
