Progress - Painting and Bodywork

Bodywork underway. All these panels were fabricated by me. Cowl is steel, rest is aluminum

Forming the aluminum around the frame was tricky. Originially I was not going to use filler, ha.

I could not get anyone to paint the car.. so I did it myself. 2 coats primer, 2 coats base colour, 2 coats clear.

Of course I had lots of dust, doing it in my garage... so I wet sanded the clearcoat, then used a dual action polisher and compound to buff it all out. Here the side of the nose cone is being sanded, the top has been buffed. worke our great

part of the cowl.. just started sanding - you can see some dust in the finish, that will get all sanded out. This is showing the windshield wiper mounts.

fender on left is sanded with 1200, on right with 2000 grit- now ready for buffing

buffed out.
