Mythology is a thrilling subject that I enjoy very much and would recommend if you are looking for something to read. (Percy Jackson and the Olympians is a personal favorite.) I will tell you about the gods in their Greek aspect because, to be honest I don’t know that much about their Roman aspect except for the translation of the gods|goddesses names.
Now, you're probably thinking what do you mean different aspects? Well, the different aspects are kind of like the gods' different personalities. Greek culture came first, and then about a millennia later the Romans got the idea of having gods and goddesses from the Greeks.
This is just based on what I’ve learned.
To give the Roman a sense of uniqueness the Romans named their gods after the god's sacred planets. For example, Aphrodite goddess of love’s sacred planet is Venus, so in Roman mythology her name is Venus. Though the god Apollo is named Apollo in both Greek and Roman mythology.
