Having Difficulty Turning On or Unfreezing Your Chromebook

If you are having difficulty turning your Chromebook on or unfreeze it, open the Chromebook and tap the power button once. If turning on the Chromebook fails please try the following:   

• Try holding the power button for 10 seconds.

• The Chromebook may need to be charged. Please plug the charger in, wait 15 -30 minutes, and try to power on your Chromebook again. If you are using a Dell Chromebook, try both charging ports (one then the other).

• If that does not work, check the power/battery status LED while the charger is plugged in.  If the power indicator has not turned on it may need to charge for a minimum of 30 minutes prior to turn on.

If this does not work you may need to reboot the Chromebook or perform a hard restart.
