Welcome to middle school! The next three years will be a time of tremendous growth for your child—physically, academically, socially, and emotionally. During these years, students begin to develop greater independence and responsibility while making important choices that shape their academic path at Shenendehowa and beyond. They will explore engaging courses and extracurricular opportunities designed to prepare them for the expectations and rigor of high school.
The mission of the Shenendehowa Middle Schools is to create small learning communities that support the success of every student. Achieving this goal requires collaboration among students, staff, families, and the community to ensure positive and meaningful middle school experiences.
Middle schools are intentionally designed to meet the developmental needs of early adolescents. At this stage, students benefit from personal attention, strong connections with caring adults, student-centered instruction, and opportunities for meaningful interaction. Combined with a rigorous academic program, these experiences help prepare students for the challenges of high school and beyond.
Recognizing that every student has unique needs, our middle school program offers a variety of support services. If you have questions or would like to access additional support for your child, please contact the Counseling Center or your child’s building administration. We value strong home/school communication and encourage families to reach out whenever assistance is needed.
