The SHS marching band is a voluntary co-curricular ensemble that performs for SHS Football Games, parades, and other special events such as college band days and their season ending concert. The marching band meets during the summer for marching drills and band camp, and then rehearses daily before school in the fall, from 7:30 to 8:25 AM. On Wednesday afternoons the marching band rehearses after school from 3:15 to 5:00 pm.

The members of the marching band learn a different half time show for each home football performance and prepare for band day performances at some of Indiana ’s major universities. In addition to their marching shows and band day performances, the marching band travels to Seymour , Indiana each fall to represent our school and community at the annual Oktoberfest Parade. Every 4 years, the members of the marching band represent our school and community as part of the Walt Disney Performing Arts program.

The SHS Drumline is an auditioned ensemble of the band department. The drumline performs throughout the school year, as a members of the marching band, and alongside the pep band at basketball games and pep rallies.
