Journalism Facilities
Our five newsrooms have PCs running the University’s managed Windows 10 desktop, which means that software used in the department can also be accessed across the University and 24/7 in the Information Commons and the Diamond.
Each newsroom has:
LED screens.
Access to the Press Association’s PA Mediapoint, Sky News Radio and the Press Associaion wire websites.

Reaper and Adobe Audition for editing audio.
Burli and Tinkerlist for creating TV and radio news bulletins.
Adobe Creative Cloud including Premiere Pro, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Radio Studios:
Broadcast standard studios.
Recording and presenting capabilities.
Isolated recording booths.
Professional hardware and equipment.
Multi presenter capacity.
TV Broadcast Studio:
Multi camera studio.
Autocue systems.
Separate gallery for switch desk controllers and Director.
LiveU on location capabilities, reporting from anywhere in the world.
Together the newsrooms and production suite represent a first-class opportunity for students to develop their skills in a professional setting.
