Open research
myPublications enables you to deposit a record in our institutional open access repository (WRRO) or our data repository (ORDA). Background information on open access is posted on the Library website.
You are prompted to make a deposit when claiming or manually adding an output.
You can also deposit a file for existing outputs. Go to Open Access > Research Outputs Awaiting Deposit. Click the Deposit button in the relevant output record and follow the instructions.
Once the file has been deposited, before publishing it in the repository the Library Open Access Team:
Checks that the publisher copyright permits public posting.
Set an embargo period where necessary. During the embargo, only the bibliographic information will be made public.
Review the metadata for accuracy.
There may be a short delay in making the paper live while these checks are undertaken. They will contact you if they require further information.
Check the open access status
Quickly check the status via the Deposits tab of the output record:
Live: the record is live in the repository, i.e. it is open access.
In review: the record has been deposited and is being processed by the Library.
