DLL Appeals & Complaints
Complaints and Appeals within DLL
We take student feedback very seriously in DLL, and aim to deal with any issues before they become complaints - so if you have any concerns about teaching or assessment, please let us know straight away. We will always try to resolve problems informally within DLL.
If you have a complaint or a concern about any aspect of the teaching on a DLL module, you should initially raise this with the Programme Director responsible for the module.
These are:
Humanities modules and Extended Project - Olivia Harrison (o.harrison@sheffield.ac.uk)
Social Science modules, including Culture, Language and Meaning, and ALCS - Sarah Hale (s.hale@sheffield.ac.uk)
Science and Health modules, including Psychology, and Maths - Camilla Priede (c.priede@sheffield.ac.uk)
If the Module Tutor is also the Programme Director, you can contact Willy as Head of Department (w.kitchen@sheffield.ac.uk)
If you think we have got something wrong in the assessment of your work, please contact DLL's Examinations Officer, Sarah Hale.
If you are not satisfied with DLL's response, you can use the University's process for Complaints or Academic Appeals, which are outlined below. Please do carefully check the University web pages linked below to ensure that you have grounds for your complaint or appeal.

Please do read the grounds for appeal carefully before submitting an appeal.
