Music

Year 7 Music introduces ākonga to the fundamentals of music making. Learning covers the basics of ukulele/guitar playing and singing, and exploring making music on different instruments. These skills are then applied by working collaboratively to write and perform an original song. Taonga Pūoro and music from Aotearoa New Zealand are studied. Ākonga are challenged to create short compositions using technology and their knowledge of musical elements.
