Performing Arts/Toi Whakaari

Year 10 - Semester Option

Year 10 Performing Arts/Toi Whakaari provides opportunities for learners/ākonga to express themselves with integrity and conviction. Performing Arts/Toi Whakaari expands abilities to relate with others and communicate effectively. Learners/ākonga will develop effective innovation, collaboration and problem solving skills by creating unique Dance and Drama work/mahi.

Course focus

explore a range of performance processes with improvisation, choreography and devised drama work/mahi
learn script and a new dance style for small performance contexts
selection elements, conventions and technologies to convey key ideas with impact/wairua
reflect and critically analyse performances

Course costs: $30 indicative amount, may be subject to change.

Scripts, costumes, props, and special effects are used. Students will have the opportunity to view at least one live performance. This performance is charged on a cost recovery basis.
