The availability of this course in 2025 will be dependent on the number of interested students and available staffing. Learners selecting this course should also identify an alternative course if Level 2 Te Reo is not available next year.

Continue to deepen your awareness of Te Reo Māori me ō ngā Tikanga
Course Content
Over the year you will study various topics. You will develop skills for NCEA Level 2 Te Reo Māori internal and external assessment, some of which may be Unit Standards. You will work on creating written and spoken work, as well as working on understanding of written and spoken language in authentic contexts. You will learn to:
communicate about future plans
offer and respond to advice, warnings and suggestions
express and respond to approval and disapproval, agreement and disagreement
offer and respond to information and opinions, giving reasons
read about and recount actual or imagined events in the past.
Assessment
Assessments will be selected from available NCEA Level 2 Achievement Standards (internal and external) and Unit Standards. Externally assessed standards are examined nationally at the end of the year.
Qualification Gained
Up to 21 credits in NCEA Te Reo Māori Level 2 taken from a range of standards (both Achievement Standards and Unit Standards)
Prior knowledge required
Prior knowledge required is acquired through Year 11 Te Reo or equivalent
