Mrs. Courtney Barrale

I am very excited to begin my THIRTEENTH year at St. Gerard Majella! Middle school is by far (in my opinion) the best and most fun to teach. I'm thrilled to be working with 7th and 8th graders in Language Arts and the 8th graders for homeroom. I value a Catholic education as I am a product of one myself. I went to St. Francis of Assisi School in Oakville for K-8 and Nerinx Hall for high school. Both of these experiences were meaningful and successfully prepared me for college and beyond. I graduated Summa cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education 1-6 with an extra certification in Language Arts 5-9 from MIZZOU. After college, I taught middle school Language Arts for 5 years at Whitfield School, and I was then at Rockwood South Middle School for one year.

My husband, Nick, and I have a first grade son named Cillian ("kil-ian") and twins Sabrina and Brennan who are in preschool! Reading is by far my favorite hobby; I've always had a passion for the written word. I love going out to eat and watching movies and TV. I am obsessed with Harry Potter, enjoy silly puns and word play, and anything girly makes me smile! I also love to travel, and my favorite place is Ireland.
