Hybrid Schedule
Our middle school students see their core classes daily. Math, Social Studies, Religion, and Science are seen in 43 minute increments Monday through Thursday. Language Arts is seen for 90 minutes because it is made up of reading, english, and vocabulary. Friday's schedule is altered to accomodate Mass attendance.
We believe that seeing classes consistently will help the students retain what they have learned in class.
Students benefit from a multitude of instructional strategies used to address the variety of ways in which they learn.
Specialty Classes
We are very fortunate to be able to offer an elective program at SGM. Students have the opportunity to explore other disciplines in the courses they choose.
We do have some requirements that students must meet but any remaining slots can be filled with Specialty of their choice. For instance, courses such as Crochet and Chess are offered.
There are specific courses we would like 6th grade students to take in the first semester to ease the transition into middle school. (See Below)
By 8th grade, the students will have 6 course choices after the requirements have been met.
