Absent Work Procedure
Absent Work Procedure
Sickness
Check Google Classroom first. Most teachers post assignments there.
Ask a classmate first if you have any questions about what was covered.
Teachers are not responsible for emailing you a detailed account of what you missed, but you may email a teacher to find a time to meet to go over what you missed. Acceptable times would be study hall, before school, or recess.
Many teachers have places within the classroom to pick up missed work.
Mrs. Barrale - See her for work
Mr. Bellamy - Extra Assignments tray
Miss Cole - See her for work
Mrs. Jones - Hanging file folder
Mrs. Kunzler - Go on Big Ideas
Mrs. McVey - Absent Work hanging folder
Specialty teachers will have their own procedures for missing those classes.
Reminder: according to the Homework Policy, you have as many days as you miss +1 to make up your work.
If you miss multiple days, you may need help prioritizing what to accomplish first. (For example, tests and projects should usually take precedence over daily homework.) Communicate with your homeroom teacher to help you create a plan to address the work.
Your homeroom teacher have “Absent Check-In” sheets for you to use to help with this process.
If your absent work becomes a concern, please communicate with your teachers. We are here to help!
Vacation / Planned Absences
Inform a teacher if you have a known absence ahead of time, but you will not be given work beforehand.
When you return, you can follow the same procedures as for sickness.
