Provides and advocates for equitable access to collection tools using digital resources, programming, and services in support of the school district’s strategic vision.


Current Status and Growth Initiatives

Current Status:

The Seymour Community School District

  • Is 1:1 with iPads in kindergarten and first grade

  • Is 1:1 with Chromebooks in second through 12th grade

  • Partners with local cell phone companies to provide out of school broadband access

  • Provides a MiFi hotspot for students without internet access at home

  • Inventories and keeps track of all devices in the district via Follett Destiny Resource Manager (managed by the technology department and library staff)

  • Utilizes learning management systems:

    • Seesaw - K-2

    • Google Classroom 3-12

  • Has purchased Promethean boards for every classroom in the district.

  • Funded a high school library redesign with future ready learners in mind including

    • collaboration rooms with interactive monitors, whiteboards, and both conference and soft seating

    • Updated Library Media Centers to create flexible space for independent and collaborative learners


Library Common school funds (managed by the district library media specialist) have purchased technology tools that enhance student learning:

  • STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) Makerspaces, eBook subscription through the Wisconsin Schools Digital Library Consortium, and several educational software subscriptions (BrainPop, Learn 360, SWANK K-12 movie streaming, PebbleGo, Starfall, and TumbleBooks)
