Current Status:

The District library Media Specialist

  • links to teaching and learning resources for staff and students.

  • tutorials for using the Destiny card catalog and Destiny Discover, in order for students to become more independent library patrons.

  • Stays up to date with current library media and technology initiatives via membership and/or Professional development provided by:

  • WEMTA (Wisconsin Educational Media and Technology)

  • CESA 7 Digital Learners Network

  • CESA 7 Virtual Networking for School Librarians

  • Northeastern Wisconsin library network

  • SITA (Summer Instructional Technology Academy)

  • WILS (Wisconsin Library Service)

  • Follett Titlewave

  • Librarian Facebook groups

  • Is a member of the Seymour Community School District’s technology and computer science committees, and integrates the libraries' curriculum with technology initiatives and computer science standards.

  • Collaborates with building library assistants and school staff in order to provide literacy information and digital skills to our students.

Growth Initiatives:

  • Continue to Inform and promote the digital resources that are available to staff and students

  • Provide Staff with resources on the district launch page where information can be accessed on an as needed basis

  • Periodically survey staff on their wants/needs for digital resources
