To a hopeful 2021

Amidst all the challenges this year, we hang on to our faith and hope that 2021 will be a healthier and better year for all of us. The Philippines have faced so many struggles this year -- the Taal volcano eruption, strong typhoons, and the Covid19 pandemic that has led so much to unexpected changes in our lives. At least for ourselves and for our families, may we all be able to plan, think, decide, and act courageously and wisely, hoping for the best solutions sooner than we thought.

Hoping that the pandemic to be over is the utmost desire of all of us. We continue to pray for the health and safety of everybody. Despite our situation nowadays, we should still have high hopes for this coming year.

We all are wishing that we could all go back to our normal lives and live without any worry and fear. As we go outside, still it is always a possibility that the virus is ready to attack us. If we follow the health protocols and be more careful, we would be able to contribute to lessening the cases of the Covid-19.

The economy of our country had reached rock bottom this year because of the pandemic and other natural calamities. A lot of businesses closed and more people were in a poor state of living. People exerted their whole effort, time, and energy to provide for the needs of their families. We are now looking forward that more jobs will be offered to the ones who need it and every family will be able to afford their needs for everyday living.

These economic problems also have led to learning adjustments that the Filipino students had a tough time coping up with. The majority are not able to learn well with the lack of teachers’ supervision and guidance. The integrity of the students is also challenged with this new way of learning, tempting them more to cheat rather than to be honest. A lot of children are not able to continue their studies as well due to the inability of most people to afford online schooling and provide academic necessities for these kids. Students have high hopes that next year will bring back the traditional way of teaching and learning that more beneficial and accessible for every student.

As we approach this new year, hoping to have a positive mindset would be difficult at a time when there is a lack of competence from our leaders. We hope that there will be an end in the struggles that we face. We also hope for good governance and leadership.

With these hopes, may we still be able to say that these problems we have are not a sign for us to give up and lose hope but rather to keep us strong and do our best.

HOPE is the key for us to dream again for a great year in 2021.

Have a hopeful new year!
