False Fairy Tale
KRISTANA BLEZ AVILA | Literary
A promising January, dumbfounding February, an agonizing March
Deceiving April, a hopeful May, seething June, a weeping July,
And August, hoping for another chapter one of my life
Counting ten to zero again
Do I still keep on believing?
“No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing,
the dream that you wish can come true.” A famous line from Cinderella,
Disney gave my child-like heart an umbrella
believing every inch of magic can come true
praying to a shooting star for a happy ending to pursue
But it all comes down to one
I’ve been tricked and it cannot be undone
Fairy Godmother, would you come?
turn this disastrous time
back to where everything is fine
Can Peter Pan carry me to a place where tranquility awaits?
A world with peace and where chaos shall cease
Can there be somehow a time where my fairy tale dream
Can come to life?
Everything my childhood heart believed
Did not expect to see a world full of false myths
While I believed in magic, curse was brought down to us
Whose fault?
Is it the villain? Or ours by default?
What a wonderful world could it be
If a white coach and a gigantic castle, we see
But the clock strikes at midnight
And my fairy tale dream became a disastrous site
I’ve been living in my own bubble not knowing when to pop
Contented to a magical world map
Now seen as a false paradise
We’re living in a world full of mishap surprise
Are we waiting for a Mulan to save the nation?
A Belle to inform us to the world’s wonderful creation
Maybe a Pocahontas to show us not to misbehave
Or a Merida to help us be brave
Just like the other princesses, maybe it’s not too late
Hoping for another chapter to create
Fairy Godmother, there is still a little faith
Will you please swing your wand from afar?
Or should I just wish upon a star?
