Bringing Holiday Meals to More Families
We are excited to share that Catholic Charities is expanding its Community Holiday Meal outreach to reach more families across all eight counties of the Diocese. Community members in need may now join us for an in-person meal or request a take-home meal from a distribution site near them — ensuring that more families experience warmth, nourishment, and dignity this season.
New Waivers, More Volunteer Opportunities
All volunteers will need to complete our updated digital waivers. It only takes a few minutes, but it’s a vital step in keeping our community protected and our programs running smoothly. The good news, you only need to complete these waivers once!
Check our website for new volunteer opportunities and shifts. When you respond, you will be prompted to verify your account information and complete the waivers.
Easter Meal on Thursday, April 2
Our holiday meal service is made possible through the continued generosity of our partners, volunteers, and supporters. This year, to allow our staff and volunteers to spend Easter with their loved ones and improve coordination with new partners across the Diocese we have moved our Easter Meal to Thursday, April 2. As we approach the Easter Holiday Meal, we invite you to join us in supporting our efforts in serving our neighbors in need. Click below to view and register for one of our open volunteer opportunities. Please note, we do not need volunteer delivery drivers this Easter.

I work for Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity, where I support our faith-based and community engagement initiatives. I wanted to reach out to explore opportunities for St. Ed’s students to get involved—particularly with our Pope Leo Village project in Cleveland.
Pope Leo Village is a multi-year neighborhood revitalization effort in the Buckeye–Woodhill community, where we are building affordable homes alongside strong community partnerships. It’s an incredible opportunity for students to live out service in a hands-on, meaningful way while learning about housing, equity, and community development.
We are hosting Wall Build days in both May and June. A Wall Build is a hands-on volunteer activity where participants construct the framed walls for a Habitat home before the house is fully built on the construction site.
No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to learn and serve. It would be wonderful to have your students join us!
Before each Wall Build, we host a Prep Day for volunteers ages 18+ to get hands-on experience, help prepare materials, and learn how to lead student groups.
To ensure a safe and successful build, we require one adult (18+) for every four student volunteers. We encourage students to form groups of four and connect with an adult liaison—such as a staff member, coach, parent, or 18+ student—to lead their team.
Adult liaisons should register for both Prep Day and Wall Build Day
Student volunteers should register for Wall Build Day only

The Westlake Community Center serves our city in two vital ways: it’s home to both our vibrant Senior Center and our wide-ranging community-focused social services.
Clague Park in Westlake hosts an annual charity classic car show on July 4th that raises money in support of our center.
Bryan Kissling is the organizer, and he is looking for five volunteers from 0900-1pm to assist with directing traffic, check-ins, registration, etc. This is a low key, fun event and he will also provide food for the volunteers.
Please reach out to me with any questions/interest. You may either email me: krigo@cityofwestlake.org or call: 440.899.3544, Ext. 6000.

I hope your school year is going well. I am writing on behalf of the Strongsville Special Olympics. We have an ice skating group that is desperate for volunteers. This would be a great opportunity for your students to earn volunteer hours while making a difference in another person's life.
Could you please pass along to your students that we are looking for volunteers for our ice skating program? Ice Skating is on Sundays from 4-6 pm at Winterhurst Skating Rink. Volunteers just have to be stable on skates and have an encouraging personality.
This is a great opportunity to gain volunteer hours, and we greatly appreciate your support. Students who are interested should contact Sharon Start, head coach at tsolympics@hotmail.com or 440-655-5790
Thank you for your help!

WINTER HELP ONLY: The Radical Hospitality Overnight Center is entering into its second season of operation. Approximately 20 beds will be provided from November through April for unhoused members of our community. Relationship development is at the core of The Radical Hospitality Overnight Center's mission and goal to move its guests into housing, an objective that was achieved for several of last season's guests. Volunteers are a vital aspect of The Center's ability to create and foster an atmosphere of community and home, honoring the dignity of each and every person in our community as an act of hospitality. There are many ways you can support this effort! The Radical Hospitality Overnight Center, housed within the Trinity Church Rec Center on the Near West Side, is seeking local volunteers for evening (6:45pm - 9:30pm) and morning (7:00am - 8:00am) shifts. Please contact our volunteer coordinator, Nancy Bistak to learn more about getting involved at RadHospVolCoor@gmail.com.
