How it works
The National Saturday Club gives 13-16 year-olds across the UK a unique opportunity to study subjects they love for free, on a Saturday at their local university, college or cultural institution - in Durham it is held at the Northern School of Art.
There are eight subjects offered: Art&Design, Craft&Making, Fashion&Business, Film&Screen, Performance&Theature, Society&Change, Science&Engineering and Writing&Talking.
Club members attend weekly Saturday classes led by expert tutors, to take part in national events throughout the year including visits to cultural institutions, masterclassess and show exhibitions.
The National Saturday Club programme is free, has no exams and offers opportunity to build skills, develop confidence and discover pathways to further study and future careers.

Our bricklaying apprenticeships are delivered through our unique site-like training hubs and with a syllabus front-loaded to home building.
A new apprentice will first undergo 5 weeks of intensive hands-on training at one of our training hubs, after which they will be ready to go on site, health and safety savvy and with sufficient basic skills to positively contribute from day one.
As an apprentice, you will return to the training hub every 8-10 weeks for 2 weeks of intensive learning. With training block delivery all year round, you can complete an apprenticeship within 18 months.

The Military Academy is a unique training college that helps 16+ year olds develop their fitness, vocational qualifications, and employability skills to help prepare for employment, including rewarding careers in the British Armed Forces.
