Our Careers Development Professional is Mrs Rochester, who has extensive experience supporting both pre-16 and post-16 young people throughout her career.
Mrs Rochester holds a Level 6 Diploma in Careers Guidance and Development, the nationally recognised qualification required to deliver personal guidance in line with Gatsby Benchmark 8.
She is also a registered professional with the Careers Development Institute (CDI), the UK's professional body for careers guidance and development. The CDI sets and maintains the professional standards for careers guidance practitioners so that people receive high-quality, impartial and informed careers support.
Through expertise and professional training, Careers Advisers helps students explore their options, make informed decisions and successfully plan their future education, training and career pathways.
All students have access to impartial careers information, advice and guidance through Mrs Rochester, Careers Coordinator.
Support is available at every stage of a student's career journey, including:
Exploring career ideas and future pathways
Choosing Year 9 option subjects
Work experience opportunities
Part-time employment advice
CV writing and applications
Interview preparation
Apprenticeships and vocational routes
As part of our statutory careers programme, all Key Stage 4 students receive support with their post-16 progression. Year 11 students are offered a one-hour personal guidance interview to explore their post-16 options and plan their next steps.
Following the meeting, students receive a written summary of the discussion, including a personalised action plan that outlines clear steps towards achieving their goals.
Our aim is to ensure every student is well informed, confident in their decisions, and prepared for their future education, training or employment pathways.
