Our Vision

Preparing all students for life in modern Britain is one of our key priorities at Seaham High School. We aim to provide the best and most up-to-date careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) so that our students are both informed and equipped to make career decisions throughout their lives.

We offer support to all of our students across all year groups, so that they are prepared for adult life and the ever-changing world of work. Our CEIAG provision is delivered via our curriculum and PHSE / tutorial programme as well as bespoke events throughout the school year.

Our Careers Coordinator is Mrs C Rochester. Mrs Rochester's e-mail address is

Our SLT member with direct responsibility for CEIAG is Mr C Harbron (Assistant Headteacher), and can be contacted at

Our CEIAG policy and programme have been formally adopted by the school's governing body. The CEIAG link governor is Mr D Miller.

Our Careers Fair took place on Tuesday 29th November 2022. Each year group had the chance to access the event during the school day, and on the evening our doors were open to all current students, ex-students, parents / carers and members of the community. We were excited to have over 35 exhibitors represented from employment sectors to Further & Higher education providers. We believe the event was a huge success and were delighted to receive such positive responses from both the students, staff and exhibitors on their experiences at our Careers Fair. We plan for this to be an annual event at Seaham High School so that all students from Years 7-11 can benefit from positive encounters with a range of post-16 opportunities. Events like these go along way to supporting students career development & management skills, decision making and confidence. Thank you to all who took part.
