Crematorium as an institution of rituals and practices.
The concept of death is envisioned as a series of rituals and practices that take place in various spaces, ranging from small to large gatherings. The site is divided into two main parts: one for the practices leading up to the cremation, and the other for the post-cremation rituals. The first part includes micro institutions for cremation, such as a ritual space, a crematorium, and administrative offices, as well as flower vendors. Water bodies act as boundaries for each crematorium. The second part of the site includes community spaces, an animal shelter, and parking. The design of each space is based on the movement of people during the rituals, emphasizing the concepts of private and public. Rotating screens are used to transform private and intimate spaces into more public and open areas. Skylights in the roof draw visitors' attention to the larger space, focusing on the deceased. A raw limestone pathway runs throughout the site, and the interior spaces are floored with polished limestone.
