The design of the crematorium places water at the forefront, using it as the primary element to foster a sense of calm and promote emotional healing. The inherent qualities of water—its gentle sound, movement, and visual purity—create an atmosphere of tranquility that soothes the mind and alleviates stress, which is particularly important in spaces of grief. The auditory presence of flowing or still water calms the nervous system, offering visitors a peaceful backdrop during moments of emotional intensity. Additionally, water’s visual symbolism of purity and renewal aligns with the emotional healing process, providing a sense of comfort and reflection. 

The choice to integrate water stems from its profound association with peace and its potential to transform the crematorium into a purely functional space that encourages emotional engagement and healing.  The design uses water as an interactive, sensory element, thoughtfully positioned to engage visitors without overwhelming them. By making water a central experiential component, the crematorium becomes a place of contemplation and solace, guiding visitors through an emotional journey of reflection and relief during times of mourning.
