SDUHSD selected the California 3 Course High School Model that embeds Earth-Space Science content into Biology, Chemistry, and Physics classes. Details regarding curricular shifts for Physics: of the Universe can be found below. Click here for more information about the instructional materials being piloted by physics teachers. Details for the AP Physics 1 and 2 Pilots can be found here.
The American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) has published this resource that considers the implications of NGSS for physics education. The table on p. 13 identifies language that is explicitly included and omitted in the NGSS. Thank you to Bryn Bishop for sharing.
SDUHSD Chemistry and Physics teachers sorted the Physical Science (PS) and Earth-Space Science (ESS) Disciplinary Core Idea Elements in August 2016. The document below is a summary of that sorting, which is similar (but not identical) to the standards assigned to Chemistry and Physics with Earth-Space Science in the California Science Framework.
The Physics Committee met over the summer of 2018 to develop learning objectives for the Physics with Earth Space Science course. The draft of these objectives can be found below; please provide feedback using the comments feature in Google docs for your school's draft. At the 8-22-19 Science Inservice, Physics teachers shared resources aligned to the objectives (also below).

The following resources were shared by SDUHSD Physics teachers during the development of the Physics Learning Objectives
SDUHSD Physics teachers will pilot Pivot Interactives to support distance learning in the 2020-2021 school year.
Thanks to Amy Springstead for providing the following resources!
Here is a short video of the steps you need to go through to set up your account, create classes, and add students. I had a couple of teachers test it out and they found it very straightforward (Thank you Angela and Katie!). One thing to note is when you are setting up your classes, there is a question about payment. Check the institution subscription option.
Here is a Getting Started document that I created for you with quick links to the support documentation from Pivot Interactives. We only purchased enough licenses for all of the physics classes and if you previously arranged to use Pivot in another course.
Thanks to Katie Stapko for creating and sharing this list of useful Pivot Interactives. SDUHSD Physics teachers are welcome to contribute!
The following Distance learning Outcomes were developed by chairs of the Learning Objectives committees to support Distance Learning for the 2020-2021 school year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
