Most inspirational moment during the program:
Seeing a group of first grade student complete their first ever chapter book.
Most inspirational moment in the program:
Student teaching full time during the final two semesters of the cohort program. Having great guide teachers who believed in me and pushed me outside of my comfort zone because they knew I was capable of reaching achievement made me more motivated as an educator to try new things and put myself out there.
Most epic moment in the program this year:
Passing the edTPA!
I love teaching because as a teacher we get a chance every day to make a difference in a child's life and guide them in the right direction to love learning.
My favorite part of teaching is when you see a child's face light up when they figure out or accomplish something they have been working on. It is so heart warming and worth all the time and effort teaching takes.
My most epic moment this year was having the seminar on Ed Tech with my cohort. It was a lot of fun and showed me new tools that could get kids more involved with technology.
I love to teach because every day is a new adventure. There are many challenges and successes that come along with teaching, but it is very rewarding. I love to learn and students teach me something every day. As a teacher, I am building those connections with students and I am seen as a big influence in their lives.
What gets her excited about working at school:
My kids! Their smiles, hugs, and sweet words. Also their sassy attitudes! They have me laughing all day long. I am so grateful for the relationships with my students that I strengthen each day I am at work.
My most inspirational experience during the program was having the opportunity to student teach at two different school sites and getting to work with children of different levels. This taught me so much and allowed me to think differently while differentiating my lessons to meet their needs. Student teaching in general was such a great experience where I made amazing connections with teachers and students that I will never forget.
What gets me most excited about going to work at a school is the opportunity to cultivate a love for learning within all of my students. As a teacher, I strive to create a positive and welcoming learning environment that allows all students to feel empowered, acknowledged, and loved.
I love teaching because I love being able to work with children, to support and inspire them in having a love for learning, and being able to watch them grow as learners and as a person from the beginning to end of a school year.
