On our way to Nelson B.C., we stopped for three days in Toronto. Toronto on its own was already quite an adventure, we got to see lots of sights. In the purest sense, this word has, as we went up the CN tower and were able to savour the view for quite a while. That Certainly was a magnificent picture. Toronto and environment in all its beauty.
However, on the second day we went through the trouble of driving to the Niagara Falls, which I think are incredibly beautiful: Be that as it may, they were a bit too touristic for my taste. On the way to the Niagara Falls, we could enjoy the endless view of the great lakes, which can seem like an ocean on the first view.
The first morning in Toronto, we got our first Canadian breakfast; of course, it was pancakes with maple syrup. What else could it possibly have been? As Germans, we first had to get used to the sugary taste in our breakfast. Fortunately, there were also other items one could eat in the morning. We stayed in a hotel in the middle of the town. At the exit of our hotel was a little Starbucks; which helped us stay awake after our 10-hour arrival flight. On our way to Nelson, we certainly did not need any coffee to stay awake, as we were excited to finally see the home we would be staying in for the next year. Furthermore, we probably stayed awake the all of the 4 hours of flight and we would wonder, "how will our new Families be like? What kind of food will we be eating? What will school be like?"
Looking back, these uncertainties might seem scary; nonetheless, we were not scared. We were thrilled!
