As you have surely noticed throughout this portfolio, I developed a humungus passion for photography.
Fire in the darkness
Against light photography gives harsh contrasts, which emphasize the subjects posture. Hereby, it is helpful to get the lowest angel, as possible, so you have extreme contrasts between subject and sky.
Often it is very important to adjust the angel of the picture you want to take. Different Angels can create different expressions. For example, if the subject is slightly above the point of view; the subject will seem more supreme. Following, if the subject is below the point of view; it establishes a more inferior look.
Most people who had something to do with photography know of the rule of thirds. It is a very important photography guideline. Indeed, it does help to enhance your photography skills. To follow the rule of thirds, divide your picture into 9 equal squares and then put the point of interest (subject) between one of the two vertical lines.
Hidden beauties can be found everywhere, if it may be a single poppy in the high Atlas (right), or a turtle underwater next to a lock (right). Sometimes these subject may not appeal at first. However, in the case of the turtle; viewers enjoy being "tasked" with finding the subject in a seemingly tiresome environment. In the case of the poppy, the excellent contrasts between the flowers an the rock create a distinguished point of interest.
Animal close-ups are very difficult to shoot. Nevertheless, if successful they give the viewer great intel on how the animal appears. The more detail of the animal is present, the more interest it gathers. The easiest animals to pratice close-ups on are smaller insects, like grasshoppers and butterflies, or pets, like turtles, dogs and cats.
Sunsets, the best way to capture a sunset is to create a harsh contrast between sky and earth. Aditionally, not focused points of interest can make the sunset seem more epic.
These are photographic interpretations of the ingenious work, "in Orbit", of Tomás Saraceno. The Photos do not display true colours.
