The Branding and Logo assigment was definetely one of my favourites, as I needed to create some kind of Logo or my website anyhow. The Idea behind my Logo was to use different colours to create a threatining action-calling, yet not quite hopeless Logo.
I started searching for a suiting earth in pixabay, then selected the continents and oceans and put a colour Overlay on it. Blue seemed for me a proper colour for the oceans, since blue is used to illustrate the oceans of the world and it generates a feeling of dependance and unification of our world. Global Change is written in Red, because it calls for action to be taken passionately. Moreover, red is an universal sign (in the animal and human world) for danger; provided by that, it draws more attention than most other colours and is, therefore, perfect for a Logo, which needs to draw attention to a global project. The writing Global Change is surrounded by a green stroke to symbolize the eco-friendly and caring society, which tries to renew the world; in order, to create a less polluted environment. In addition, Green is a colour, which creates a sense of calm and gives hope.
At last, I thought that it would be great having the writing sinking into the world, as a metaphor for the continents slowly getting flooded into the oceans. Furthermore, it does create a need for urgency, in my opinion.
The first try
In my first try, as you can see above, I used too dark colours.
The final image
The final colouring gives it much more life. However, unfortunately, it messed the borderlines up.
