Theme: Kindness
It could be a photo, a video, a screenshot or even just a note describing what you did.
The following challenges are meant to support areas of ADST and STEM curriculum.
Kindness Rocks
Kindness Rocks are small rocks that are painted with fun, inspirational pictures or messages and are placed in public areas for others to find.
Here’s how you can create Kindness Rocks. You’ll need these supplies:
Palm-sized, smooth rocks
Acrylic paint and thin brushes
Paint pens or permanent marker (optional)
Clear outdoor sealant spray or white glue that dries clear.
Step 1: Gather your rocks. Look for ones with a smooth side that fit in the palm of your hand.
Step 2: Paint the rocks whatever colors you”™d like to provide a background for your artwork. Once dry, flip and paint the other side.
Step 3: You get to decorate your rocks. You can write your own message with permanent marker or paint pens. You can also add a positive/kindness design.
Step 4: Once the paint is dry, brush on the glue or spray the rocks with a clear outdoor sealant spray to protect them from the elements until they are found by others.
Step 5: Then go for a walk in a few parks, downtown, or anywhere else around your community that gets a large amount of foot traffic. Hide your Kindness Rocks where they can be easily found by passersby.
Kind Kingdom
The Internet is a powerful tool that can be used to spread positivity or negativity. Take the high road by applying the concept of “treat others as you would like to be treated” to your actions online, creating positive impact for others.
Defeat the troublemakers by spreading positive messages and reach the top of the kingdom.
Extension - Once you've mastered Kindness Kingdom there's also 3 other kingdoms to explore.
