Advanced Placement Art Studio

AP classes challenges a student to work at a high level of skill. The AP Studio Art program requires the completion of a portfolio consisting of 12 images in a breadth of technique and 12 in an exploration of an individually chosen theme. It is offered to students who express a desire to work hard and who have demonstrated the skills needed to successfully complete this demanding program. This program typically begins in Grade 11, as most students need two years to achieve the breadth and depth of work required for the portfolio. The completed portfolio is ideal for AP Art, Post - Secondary applications and a future career in art.

Our Advanced Placement (AP) courses are an important component of the high school enrichment program. AP courses are very challenging, and result in the creation of a portfolio of student work which could be used for post-secondary admissions.

Open to grade 11 and 12 students who have completed another LP art course.
