Each student will find Weekly Practice Assignments listed on their class page of Smartmusic after they log in. These are designed to help provide goals and focus to their work outside of class each week. Students should submit their completed work each week for us to review and record.
The practice assignments will not be included in the final semester grade because they are practice but they are very important. Completing the practice assignments will help students be successful in their development, playing tests and performances. These may be completed at home or at school.
These assignments will help you, the parent, know what your child should be working on and how they are doing. If your student says they have nothing to practice or do not know what to practice, you may look at the program and see what is listed each week. The program will also show the correct and incorrect notes of each exercise after a student works on it so you will know if they mastered each assignment.
If you do not have the program on your home computer you may still look at the online Smartmusic gradebook page to see assignments and students may practice the material off of their sheet music or on the program at school. To find the online Smartmusic gradebook page:
1. Open up GOOGLE CHROME if you have it. The account set-up works better with a browser that is NOT Internet Explorer. If that is your only choice you can still try it.
2. SEARCH on Google for smartmusic gradebook.
3. Click on the first website you see.
4. Use your child's login to access their personalized home page.
Traughber has 7 practice rooms that can be used by the students before school, after school, and during lunch. These practice rooms are equipped with computers that every student may use. These computers have several music programs that we use for band including Smartmusic, Note Names, and sound recording programs.
School practice rooms will now be used for the following purposes:
