Learner profiles
Developing standard operating procedures
Opportunity for voice & choice
Reflection and self assessment
Flexible Learning: Students are given flexibility in how, when and where they learn including grouping, materials, methods, pacing, and the use of the physical space. Teachers rely on best practices to determine how students engage in the content within the space. Flexible learning can be developed through:
Flexible seating
Learning pathways
Inquiry driven experiences
Data-Driven Practices: Students and teachers use information from various sources such as discussions, assignments, assessments as academic evidence to guide decisions about learning. Data-driven practices help determine what students know and what they are ready to learn. They guide the development of personalized learning experiences and can include:
Goal setting, data tracking, and reflection
Pre-assessments and learning progressions
Targeted and responsive instruction
Standards-based learning and reporting
Social Emotional Cultivation: Students develop confidence in their own skills and knowledge, a sense of self-efficacy, and a belief in their own ability to be successful. Schools are responsive to students’ diverse strengths, needs, and identities. Social emotional development can be cultivated through:
