Dayoca

Nation Description

Dayoca is a large liberal presidential republic whose capital is the northern city of San Dorano. This country's size gives it regions which vary significantly in their contributions to Dayoca's economy and local culture. Ranging from primeval forest to overdeveloped megapolises, Dayoca is a land of many contrasts.

Regions

Kaluete River Basin

The Kaluete River flows through the largest rain forest on the planet. The region has always featured a distinct tension between traditionalism and modernity. A few major cities are scattered through thick forests that often bring disease to the city dwellers. The rest is "owned" by the indigenous people who are scattered throughout the region. The tension became quite violent during the construction of hydroelectric dams to power the growing jungle cities, leaving much traditional land flooded. The porous border between the Kaluete Reservation in Mirizal is of no concern to the indigenous people who consider the entire region their traditional lands. However, it creates a lot of tension for a government that wants to control its borders. The rain forest is threatened by increasingly brazen miners who are plundering mineral deposits in the forest and leaving mine waste behind, and cattle farmers burning the rain forest to clear it for cattle grazing and more productive farming.

Megapolis Coast

Home to four metropolitan areas, Megapolis Coast is the powerful economic engine of the entire country. From government to top-of-the-line research facilities to banking to industry, this region has it all.

Osteno Rangelands

Cutting into the rain forest at an accelerating rate, the expanding Osteno Rangelands are home to cattle farmers catering to the country's fondness for beef and desire for money from beef exports.

Plesce Region

A quaint fishing region in the east of the country snuggled in at the ends of the Toltekanian Divide, a surprising number of extradition requests from other countries request citizens from this region for "embezzlement", "war crimes", and "crimes against humanity".

Naro

A former colony of Amuria, the people of this island refuse to acknowledge the legitimacy of their handover to Dayoca and continue to pledge allegiance to Amuria, a country which pressures Dayoca to accept this state of affairs.

Regime Structure

The president has a significant role in the system of state bodies, combining in his hands the powers of the head of state and the head of government. The president consults with his government when making decisions.

Ideology

The main ideology of the country is equal civil rights and political freedom, liberal attitude to the economy, protection of the environment.

History

The first settlement of the Dayoki was the Takarashi Empire, they raised cattle, grew coffee and potatoes. They often had wars with the Maka-Kaka tribe. The first pioneers were the Dutch, they believed and stole everything. Takarashi's empire collapsed, it was under the Netherlands for 167 years, but the British invaded and the Spaniards attacked Holland and France. The British and the Spaniards won, the Dayok went to Britain 5 years later in the British Dayok there was a great crisis, the country became impoverished and had no money at all. In 1900, the country became independent and the crisis did not end, the paint for money ran out, but of the stocks of paint was only orange and now each copy is orange. Relative peace and prosperity now prevail in the Dayok
