Your physical and mental wellness is important to us! DSST is proud to offer medical, dental, and vision insurance to all regular employees. We offer four plans on two networks so that you can choose the care that works best for you and your family. FAQ: When will my DSST Benefits start?
Answer: You will be able to enroll in benefits the first of the month after your start date. If your start date is July 24, 2025, you will be able to enroll starting August 1, 2025. You will have 30 days to complete enrollment and it will be retroactive back to 8/1/25.
DSST runs on a July to June payroll calendar and all regular DSST employees are on a 12-month pay cycle. Pay is issues semi-monthly on the 15th and last business day of the month. The exception to this rule is when the 15th or last day of the month falls over a weekend or holiday. In that instance, pay is issued the last working day prior.
Team members with a start date of 7/24/25 will receive a full 12 months pay. New teachers with a start date of 7/24/2025 can expect their first check on 8/15/2025.
***That check will reflect 1.5 months of pay (all of July and the August 1st - 15th pay period of August).
Please note that payment will be contingent upon full attendance of all NSI and NEI obligations.
Any signing bonuses will be paid per the terms of your offer letter.
Once you have access to DSST systems (after your start date), you can submit approved reimbursement requests through the Quickbase app. Please note, in order to receive a reimbursement, you must supply a receipt and have all banking details complete in your Workday profile. Reimbursements will be received via direct bank deposit.

Future employees who have signed an offer but have not yet started work: If you need a verification of employment document completed, please email the document to humanresources@scienceandtech.org. Please note that VOE's have a 72 hour turn-around time.
