2021 New Teacher Training Overview:
New Teacher Training (NTT) is 1 day of professional development and a 1/2 day skills clinic for all new to DSST teachers. Led by DSST's Teacher Development team with sessions facilitated by senior leaders from across the network, New Teacher Training will provide teachers with foundational development focusing on content, classroom culture, support of exceptional learners, and DSST’s bar of instructional and cultural excellence.

Date and Time: New Teacher Training (NTT) will take place virtually on Microsoft Teams on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM and Monday, August 2 from 8:00 AM - 11:45 AM. *Note: Some schools will log in and view NTT sessions together in-person on campus. Please reach out to your manager if you are unsure about attendance requirements.

Monday, August 2 - Skills Clinic
The Day 2 Skills Clinic for General Education staff will run from 8:00 AM - 11:45 AM.
The Day 2 Skills Clinic for Special Services staff will run from 8:00 AM - 3:15 PM (for Mental Health Providers 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM) on Monday, August 2nd for New to DSST staff. You can see a detailed schedule for the day here.

Rotation 1: 8:15 - 9:30am
Apprentice Teachers: Join Apprentice Teacher Kickoff
All other teachers: Join Lesson Planning (content specific) session

All Special Education teachers and Middle School Math and Literacy Teachers: Join Introduction to i-Ready session
All other teachers: Join Classroom Culture and Management Tools 101 session
Closing Reflection: 11:15 - 11:45am
Optional Tech Session & Benefits Office Hours: 1:00 - 3:00pm
The DSST Education Technology (Ed Tech) Team will be hosting a synchronous training from 1:00 - 2:00pm focusing specifically on technology platforms for new hires new to using Microsoft Teams and Google Classroom.
Questions about your benefits? The Talent Operations team will be available for Office Hours from 2:00 - 3:00pm.
Pre-work: In order to deepen your understanding of the work ahead and maximize our virtual experience together, please set aside time to engage with the readings and resources (approximately 60 minutes). View the prework for NTT HERE.
