Welcome New DSST Staff,
We are extremely excited that you joined our team here at DSST Public Schools. We want to thank you for choosing DSST as the organization with which you have decided to begin or continue your career in education. We plan to create a meaningful onboarding experience for you through our New Staff Institute (NSI) on Thursday, July 24, 2025 and New Educator Institute (NEI) Friday, July 25, 2025 to Wednesday, July 30 2025. Both NSI and NEI will take place at the DSST Green Valley Ranch Campus located at 4800 Telluride St, Denver, CO 80249. Our sessions will take place in Building 1, Building 2 and Building 3. New Staff Institute | Thursday, July 24, 2024

Who attends the New Staff Institute (NSI)?
*All New Staff Hired from January 2025 to present: This includes anyone new to DSST including teachers, instructional staff, social workers, mental health providers, apprentice teachers and any other new staff designated to join by their manager.
What is the dress code for New Staff Institute (NSI)?
**Casual Attire: Please wear College and Career Gear (rock the college or university you attended, the military branch in which you served, or the trade school or industry you worked in prior to joining DSST). Jeans, khakis, sundresses, t-shirts, open-toed shoes or sneakers are welcome. Denver’s summer weather can be hot, but please consider bringing multiple layers (i.e. sweaters, blazers, wraps) as some rooms can be cold due to the air conditioning
Additional Information:
Coffee and snacks will be provided starting at 8:00 a.m.
Laptops will be distributed at NSI on July 24th
If you were not hired by July 18 and/or have not completed all your Workday tasks upon being hired, your laptop may not be available at NSI (but you will receive it as quickly as possible at NEI).
NSI includes school time with your school director and team in the morning after we launch

Who attends the New Educator Institute (NEI)?
*New Educators: This includes any new educator to DSST including teachers, social workers, mental health providers, apprentice teachers, staff hired after Jan 1, 2025 and any other new staff designated to join by their manager.
What is the dress code for New Educator Institute (NEI)?
**Casual Attire: This year’s NEI experience includes daily themes as part of our Take Flight journey, and we encourage everyone to join in! Overall, attire is casual—feel free to wear College and Career Gear that represents your journey (rock the college or university you attended, the military branch you served in, or the trade school or industry you worked in before joining DSST). Jeans, khakis, sundresses, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, and sneakers are all welcome. We recommend bringing layers like blazers, sweaters, or wraps, as Denver’s summer heat can contrast sharply with chilly, air-conditioned rooms.

If you did not receive a laptop at NSI, tech will be onsite to support you at NEI

Summer Communications:
Please know that we will send all communications for NSI via the Home Office Onboarding Email: Humanresources@scienceandtech.org
New staff will receive a total of three communications about NSI from us: June 2, June 16, and July 21st. Your school directors or Home Office managers will be copied on every communication. If you have any questions, please reply to humanresources@scienceandtech.org.
School and Home Office team information: School and Home Office team information will come directly from your school or Home Office team. Any questions regarding your school or Home Office team should be directed to your school if you are on a campus or to your Home Office manager if you are at Home Office.
Onboarding Requests and Requirements:
It is imperative that all new hires get their:
Fingerprint background checks completed by July16th
Please note, if you are applying for licenses through the CDE or another learning organization, you will have to complete two sets of fingerprints - one for DSST and one for your outside entity.
Upload transcripts and certification documentation into your Workday account (Add or update your Certifications Guide).
Upload I-9 documentation into your Workday account (Upload Worker Documents Guide).
Complete all onboarding tasks in your Workday account (Logging into Workday Guide)
You will not be able to elect DSST health benefits until after your official start date. The HR team will be presenting on our benefits offerings and have time for questions at NSI. You can view the DSST’s Benefits guide on the DSST Benefits Site to learn more about options.
