On the Bay Area Mr. Gilbert’s AVID Class visited multiple colleges such as Stanford, Santa Clara, San Jose, and UC Berkeley just to name a few. They also saw many different attractions such as Monterrary Bay, Golden Gate Bridge and the Winchester Mystery House. Students from Mr. Gilbert’s class found this trip to be educational and fun at the same time. Kiya Woods says that, “It was a very balanced out experience because we are not only learning but also having fun on the way. Which helps balance each other out because it’s not to boring and yet not too distracting.” Other students, like Samina Laguna said, “My favorite college that we visited was most definitely Stanford University. I really liked the on campus church that we visited, along with the artifacts that were near the church. Our tour guide was really chill and gave us a lifetime experience we will never forget. Most definitely one of my top three favorite colleges that I want to attend.” Overall the AVID students had an amazing bonding experience with each other. They’d like to thank Steve Gonzalez, Mrs. Bullock and Mr. Gilbert for making this trip such a memorable time of their sophomore school year.
