The TAPCO Vocal Department encompasses a wide range of singing experiences. Our students will journey through the worlds of many genres from Opera and Classical to Musical Theatre and Contemporary music. TAPCO’s intensive vocal program offers students a comprehensive curriculum consisting of vocal technique, music history and theory. Performance decorum is an essential part of group and individual singing collaborations. Students are encouraged to engage in every aspect of their vocal experience from solo to ensemble and large group performances. We frequently collaborate with all of the arts disciplines here at our arts HS. TAPCO is a place for aspiring vocalists.

About the Singer
My name is Beverly McKnight and I am the Middle School Vocal Music teacher at TAPCo. It is my goal to provide a comprehensive and educational Music program and guide the scholars in developing their artistic passion and vocal techniques. It is my hope that scholars will be prepared to transition into TAPco's high school program as future vocal artists equipped to exercise their vocal skills and proper performance decorum. These skills will help prepare them to be well rounded performers.
This is my third year at TAPco. and I am a 30 year veteran in the education field. I have a BS in Music & Elementary Education from Concordia College and an MS in Special Education from Manhattan College. In addition to teaching I am a professional singer. I have performed off Broadway, on TBN as a guest soloist, member of the New Rochelle Opera chorus. I have performed and recorded with well known and local Gospel/Inspirational artists as a choir member and soloist. I look forward to continue sharing my love of music and performance. Together we can develop a strong rapport and musical community.
