The boys stop to eat food 

Ralph is watching the water and feels hopeless. He doesn't think they'll ever get saved 

Simon comforts Ralph 

The hunters find pig droppings and Jack suggest they hunt for pigs instead of the beast 

This was the first time Ralph went hunting. He hits a boar with a spear. Jack tries to "one up" Ralph by showing off his bloody arm 

The boys are excited about the hunt and pretend to have the hunt. They pretend that Robert is the pig. Even Ralph wants to "hunt" Robert

Jack is confident that he can kill the beast. Jack and Ralph are in a power struggle. They both argue about what to do next. They continue climbing the mountain 

The creature (dead paratrooper) bows its head to Ralph
