A group of British boys were in a plane that was shot down.
Ralph and Piggy end up in an island by themselves. NO adults.
Ralph and Piggy look for other people at the beach.
They find a conch (shell). It is used as a horn to summon the other boys
Ralph blow on the conch and other boys show up at the beach. There's a group of boys ranging from ages 6 to 12.
Among the group is another group of boys dressed in all black who are in the choir. This group is led by Jack.
The boys try to elect a leader. They vote for Ralph. Jack isn't happy that Ralph is elected as a leader.
All the boys make fun of Piggy because of his weight. Jack and Ralph don't let Piggy explore the island.
Ralph, Jack, and Simon explore the island. They confirm they are on an uninhabited island surrounded by the ocean.
At the end of the chapter, Jack tries to kill a pig but fails. He's determined to kill a pig after that.
