The boys are on an island.
They meet on the beach.
Top of the mountain - to create a fire as a signal
Ralph blows on the conch to gather everybody together for a meeting on the beach.
Ralph decides that whoever holds the conch can speak.
Ralph and Jack decide that there need to be hunters to get food (hunt for pigs) for everyone.
Piggy tells everyone that everybody might be stuck on the island for a long time.
He also says that no one knows they crashed on the island. Piggy scares the other boys with his thoughts.
The younger kids say they see a "beastie" or monster on the island.
Even though they're scared too, the older kids try to make the younger kids feel better by saying there is no monster on the island and that the younger kids are just having bad dreams.
Ralph wants to rescue the group so he has an idea to create a fire signal. If ships see the fire, then maybe they will stop to save them.
The boys collect wood and try to make a fire. They use Piggy's glasses to start a fire.
Piggy reminds the group that they should work more strategically if they want to survive and get off the island.
Nobody listens to Piggy.
