Setting
The boys are on an island.
Ralph gives the boys a speech. He's pointing out that the boys aren't working together as a team and are no longer happy
The boys argue about the possibility of a beast on the island. Jack doesn't think there's a beast
Jack starts to question Ralph's role as leader of the group. He thinks he does the most by being a hunter a providing food
Jack is confident that he and the hunters can hunt down the beast, if it exists
