The presenters will lead a presentation about supporting LGBTQ+ students and employees at the New York City Public Schools (NYCPS). This program will explain the terms and concepts in the LGBTQ+ acronym and discuss the law, regulations, and policies that affect both the students and the employees who are part of our communities.
In addition, the presenters will provide insights on how to apply the NYCPS specific policies to common situations that may arise in schools, strategies for promoting DEIB within intersectional, anti-racist, and gender-inclusive frameworks, and how to create an affirming environment.
