Library is a safe place for everyone to explore their own interests and selves, challenge their understandings and tastes, and engage in the fun of reading and learning.
To accomplish these goals, we follow Chargers community rules:
Make thoughtful and safe choices
Be respectful to all
Contribute to the community
Walk quietly in hallways and stairs
And, a few additional library rules:
Caring for library materials: Return materials in the condition you received it in, and use your placeholder when browsing books.
Technology access: Use technology only after receiving a permission from the librarian (priority to students with permission slips using computers for class-, home-work). Follow the digital citizenship rules.
Use library voice (indoor voice) and walking feet
Checking out books steps and guidelines:
Kindergarten, first grade students may check out one to two books at a time.
Second through eighth grade students may check out up to three books at a time.
All students may check out books for two weeks.
All materials can be renewed (or borrowed again for another week).
Return books on time and in the condition that you received it in.
If a checked-out book is damaged or lost, talk to the librarian. You and your family will be asked to provide funds needed to buy a replacement book (Please, do not buy a replacement. The librarian purchases books with barcodes and spine labels already attached to the books). Reimbursing for lost/damaged books is optional but encouraged.
